Where additional permissions are required—such as access to your device’s location—your explicit consent at the time of enabling such features shall constitute valid consent under applicable law.
b. Information Collected Automatically
When you access the Platform or use our services, certain technical and behavioural information may be collected automatically. Where such information can reasonably be linked to your identity (for example, through login credentials, device identifiers, or IP address), it is treated as personal data. This may include:
- Device and Application Data: Device type, operating system, IP address, browser details, language settings, unique device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address, etc.), crash logs, and in-app activity associated with your account.

Some of this data may be collected in anonymised or aggregated form and is addressed separately under Section 3 (Non-Personal Information).
c. Location Data and Trip Monitoring
With your explicit consent, YoursCarr may collect location data during active trips to ensure safety, accountability, and service reliability. Location tracking may occur through:
User Device-Based Tracking
Depending on the permissions you grant:
- One-time access: Captures pickup and drop-off coordinates only.
- Continuous access: Enables real-time tracking throughout the trip to support route monitoring, delay alerts, and safety events. Tracking begins at trip start and ends automatically upon trip completion.
You may revoke location permissions at any time via your device settings, though doing so may limit certain services.
Vehicle-Installed GPS Devices (Host Opt-In)
Where a vehicle is fitted with a GPS or telematics device installed with Host consent, vehicle-based location data may also be collected during the booking period. Such devices may capture:
- Live location and route history
- Vehicle diagnostics and ignition status
- Driving behaviour indicators
- Tamper alerts and remote immobilisation capabilities (where supported)
These devices are active only during an ongoing booking and do not track users outside the trip window.
Location data is used to:
- Enhance safety and enforce geofencing
- Detect delays or route deviations
- Support emergency response or recovery
- Verify trip timelines and prevent misuse
Location records are generally retained for up to six (6) months post-trip to address disputes, insurance matters, or legal requests, after which they are deleted unless retention is required by law.
